DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION (DAF) - PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

Operating principles of DAF

Water is directed into a dissolved gas tank by a high pressure pump. The air is added into the dissolved air tank by an air compressor, where water and air are mixed. Air-saturated water flows into the flotation compartment of the DAF tank, through a pressure reducing valve, the pressure is abruptly reduced to atmospheric pressure. Dissolved gas is separated and attached to the sediment particles in the water, flotation is formed.
